Comparison of one game in two different platforms

In my assignment I will compare the FIFA 2014 in two different consoles PS4 and PS3. PS4 is the newest version of PS3 and as a result it would be interested to see which are the innovations of PS4 and if it worth’s to get it or still playing it at the old version of the console.
The executive producer of the game David Rutter commended about the differences between the two versions:
“Put them side by side and play them one after the other, then you realise how vastly different they are. It’s remarkable.”
Graphics

The graphics at FIFA 2014 are slightly better at PS4 compared to PS3. Slow motion effects are included and the crowd reactions look very realistic. Additionally, the pitch looks very realistic too. The grass looks that it’s fresh, like a normal grass at a football pitch something that gives you the feeling that you are watching a real football game.
To be honest, the graphics at PS3 are still very good and you can enjoy playing the game on this platform too. As a result I think that both consoles have high quality of graphics with PS4 having more details which matter only for very demanding gamers.  I can enjoy the graphics at both consoles and I think these small differences don’t matter at all.
Camera Angle
For me the most important difference is at the angle of the camera. In PS4 new angles are included which make the game looks more realistic and the news angles are very similar to a TV broadcast.   You think that you are more near to the pitch compared to PS3 version.  This is something very important. This camera innovation changed the way that FIFA was played in the past and makes it more difficult and unique compared to the other versions.
As I referred before at the first paragraph the crowd reactions are developed at the PS4 version. This is something that EA Sports which developed FIFA 2014 tried to incorporate in the camera angle. As you can see from the picture above the crowd is obvious in the PS4 version something that it’s not included in the PS3 version.
Even if the camera change is probably the most important in FIFA 2014 there are some people who don’t like the new angle and adjusted the camera back to the old settings.  As you can see for the picture below many people in websites such as ‘’http://news.futhead.com/’’ commended that they liked the new angle but it makes the game for difficult something that thy didn’t prefer. As I result they play with the old camera settings.
In general, the only difference between a TV broadcast and a FIFA 2014 game is that you have to control the players.
Gameplay
There are some important differences at the gameplay for the PS4 version. The precision movement is a system that changes the actions of the players through new locomotion mechanics. This includes much more new animations compared to the PS3 version.  This new system is completely different compared to the previous ones. Its producer Kantcho Doskov commended for that:
“”Locomotion is the lowest-level system in FIFA gameplay, meaning it affects everything else – you change the locomotion system, you have to rebalance dribbling, positioning, and the first touch. All the other systems hinge on player movement””
By playing the game you will see that players use the momentum of the ball to allow it to run across them rather than having to take a first touch.
Except for that there are differences at the collision which are much more realistic. When your players have been knocked you can see that he won’t be able to run properly like in reality and sometimes he will stop depending the power of the knock. Sometimes you will have the chance to keep the ball but this depends on the skills of the player you use.
Another innovation is the Living Worlds system. This makes the storytelling realistic and essential like never before.
The shooting has completely changed especially for the PS4 version. You have the chance to make shoots in places that you couldn’t in the previous generations. The new generation of shooting has the full power of Ignite behind it, so you’ve got tonnes more animations in there.
A very good video to be able to understand the differences between the PS3 and PS4 version can be found at the link below. You will be able to identify some of the difference I referred before by watching in the half of the screen the PS3 version and in the other half the PS4 version.
Conclusion
