Super Mario Bros 3 is 2D platform video game that was published by Nintendo and at the beginning was only available for Nintendo entertainment system (This console is not available anymore. It was available from 1983-2003).

Recently, Nintendo announce that Super Mario Bros is available as a Virtual Console(is a specialized section of the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo e-Shop, online services that allow players to purchase and download games and other software for Nintendo's Wii and Wii U home gaming consoles and the Nintendo 3DS portable gaming console.

As all the Mario games, the main character of the game is Mario who is trying to save the Princess Toadstool and the governors of seven different kingdoms with help of Luigi. The enemies of Mario are Boswer and the Koopalings. In the gameplay you can control either Mario or Luigi. Compared to the other Mario games Supper Mario Bros 3 has some innovations that make it specific from the older versions. The player is able to slide pick up and throw special blocks, and freely climb up and down vines. Also Mario can jump or float. There are 8 different kingdoms in the game (Grass Land, Desert Land, Water Land, Giant Land, Sky Land, Ice Land, Pipe Land and Dark Land). Every time you move on the next kingdom the game is more difficult. In general, I think the game is quite challenging with, it’s neither hard nor too easy. It will last you about 10 hours to beat the game. Furthermore, a map is included and can help you navigate the player better. In every kingdom there is a final stage that you need to complete to progress to the next level.
The control of the game is not difficult and you can easily get used to it. Until you get used to it you will lose all the time because you won’t be able to use all the skills and abilities of the character. You use mainly the left, right, up and down arrows to move, duck down or jump. You also can use A that gives you the chance to jump very high and swim. With B you can accelerate and throw fireballs.
